Jeannot is a bereaved father who lost his 13 years old daughter Sandy as a pedestrian on her way to school in 1993. He than directly joined Luxemburg’s Road Victim Association AVR, where he has been president since 1999. As a FEVR delegate, he joined their board in 2004 as secretary, followed as Vice-president and was finally elected president of FEVR in October 2010.

Jeannot travels regularly through Europe to participate in road safety conferences and is invited by the EU to stakeholder meetings. He is also a member of different EU advisory groups such as the Civitas project on urban road safety and the Safety Cube project and a member in the ETSC Main Council and delegate to UNECE WP1 on road safety in Geneva.

In Luxemburg as delegate of AVR in the Governments Transport Commission Jeannot was active in several working groups on road safety and member of the National “Round Table” for the Road Safety Strategy “Vision Zero” by transport minister Bausch in 2014.

As a strong advocate of the Vision Zero principle Jeannot has already promoted this idea in his official speech in 2002 at the 10th anniversary of AVR.

Parliamentarians worldwide are being urged to endorse the Manifesto #4RoadSafety and sign a statement of support in advance of an important debate on road safety during the forthcoming 72nd Session of the UN General Assembly.
